Hello there, I'm Tina, and I'm so glad you're here. I've made it my life's work to help women improve their health and well-being through personal training and therapeutic yoga. Let me share a bit about my story and what drives my passion for empowering women to become stronger, more confident, and liberated from pain.
My journey through midlife has been a rollercoaster ride of challenges and lessons. In my early forties, right at the peak of my athletic activities and the prime of my personal training career, I suffered a persistent hamstring injury followed by a bad ankle sprain, which forced me to stop running marathons and ease off my vinyasa yoga practice. Then in my late forties, I found myself in a body I didn't recognize, full-throttle into menopause with a staggering 26 out of 34 symptoms that seemed to be never-ending. To top it all off, I received the devastating news of an osteoporosis diagnosis despite years of a healthy and active lifestyle that should have prevented it. Even after consulting numerous specialists and doctors for my mysterious and not-so-mysterious ailments, I found myself at times misdiagnosed, unsupported, and left to navigate the situation on my own.
I've always held a deep belief in the wisdom and resilience of the human body, which made it especially perplexing when my own body struggled to heal. Motivated by this inconsistency, I set out on a journey to explore the unique challenges women over 40 confront. My aim was to uncover the most effective methods for preserving bone and muscle mass, as well as promoting overall health and strength during this pivotal phase of life.
Despite learning a great deal, I still had chronic pain in my hamstring. So, I delved deeper into my yoga studies, dedicating myself to continuous learning, training, and practice, culminating in a 1000-hour yoga therapy certification. This certification, akin to a master's degree, illuminated my true passion and innate talent: assisting individuals in overcoming chronic pain that hasn’t responded to conventional treatments. And thankfully, by applying the healing methods I had learned, I alleviated the pain in my hamstring that initially set me on this path.
I'm excited and committed to sharing my knowledge with other women, to guide and support them in navigating the challenges of aging, from managing chronic pain to preserving bone density and improving strength, balance, and muscle tone. Nobody should have to face these challenges alone.
When I’m not working or focusing on my fitness goals, you’ll frequently find me hiking trails, traveling the world with my husband, visiting with family and friends, or having some fun and goofing around with my three grown children. These moments of joy and relaxation are my way of recharging and finding inspiration.
Thanks for getting to know me a little better. I'm eager to hear your story as well, so please don't hesitate to reach out and share your thoughts. Let's connect and take on this journey together.
